Quantum physics, known to practitioners as quantum mechanics, is a subject that physicists study in a rather peculiar way. We all learn to use that mathematical framework to do calculations, but that doesn’t mean we can really explain what it means. It gives us the opportunity to see how closely our results match our experimental results, giving us confidence that our calculations correctly describe reality.
But before we even see the box, why is the cat alive and dead in the box? We can do the math to match this…
