DarkFlash CX6 AURORA SPECTRUM RGB Fan
critique summary
The darkFlash CX6 AURORA SPECTRUM RGB fan is a pocket-friendly fan that works great for case ventilation, but users can use it with a radiator, albeit with a bit of a performance hit. They provide an excellent and vivid ARGB light show. If you want color customization and don’t want to spend a fortune, but want decent performance, look at these fans.

Fans, fans, fans! I’ve been testing a lot of fans lately. Most of them are Alphacool SuperNova 1260mm radiator (on other media sites). A local dealer approached us and dark flash fan of 120mm size.we agreed so they told us CX6 Aurora Spectrum RGB fan.

These fans are available in PWM and voltage-based control versions. One fan pack contains 3 CX6 white fans.Speaking of specs, these fans are rated up to 2000 rpm to generate 55.29 CFM so 1.63mm H₂O air pressure. darkFlash seems to target these fans for case ventilation. In that case, these stats make sense.

The fan is shipped in a black and orange cardboard box. You can see that the picture of the fan is drawn on the front of the box. Here the most important information is printed at the top indicating that this is his PWM version.

The back of the box has specifications in multiple languages. The fan that arrived at my house is white, so I checked the white box.

DARKFLASH provides 4 self-tapping screws in the box.

It’s time to pay attention to the fans.

The dimensions of the fan are 120×120×25mm comes with 7x translucent blades. Any two mounting corners 105mmThe frame of the fan is white. The color is not pure white, but gives a hint of paleness. The center is also translucent and has the darkFlash logo.

the blade has 3D stripe design Each blade has three such stripes. These stripes protruded towards the trailing edge of the blade. This design could be used to create more sustainable airflow across the edges while reducing drag. The frame has a slop-down design with rounded corners.

Each mounting corner has anti-vibration pads cut to size, also white. A few scratches on the mounting corners suggest that the fan has probably been used before.

The frame of the folding fan has a striped pattern, and it is quite stately. The frame is very sturdy and inflexible, and the fan build quality is excellent. There are no arrow symbols on the side frames. These arrow symbols are a visual aid for novice users to orient themselves prior to installation.

there is 6 arms The underside assembly that holds the fan motor and blades to the frame, and the sticker. Unlike most fans, the darkFlash CX6 AURORA SPECTRUM RGB does not have a power rating and model printed on it. Also, most fans have his 3-4 arms attached to the back. These fans are made in China. A black dot on the anti-vibration pad suggests that this is probably a used fan. His one of the arms is wide and has an inset where the wires are routed from the center to the frame.

These fans use rifle bearings and have a lifespan of 30,000 hours. I’m not sure, but the motor seems to have 4 poles.

The cable is long enough, flat and white in color along with a 4-pin PWM connector.
3-Pin, 5V ARGB Female Connector Comes with a standard 3-Pin, 5V ARGB female connector and cable in flat white color.

There is also a 3-pin male connector. This allows for daisy chaining of fans and allows for single synchronous control of the fans.

Surprisingly, darkFlash says on their website that these fans are compatible with the ASUS AURA SYNC. No other motherboard manufacturers are listed there. These fans use the standard he 5V, 3-pin connector, so they will work with any motherboard. Using RGB FUSION 2.0 he tested on GIGABYTE X670E AORUS MASTER and found it works fine. It was reacting to changes in light mode. Here are some pictures of these fans in action.
test
The following test bench is used for thermal performance testing.
Ah Half an hour execution of Cinebench R23 Used to stress the CPU to test the thermal performance of the cooler.the comparison is DeepCool FK120 Fan and the darkFlash CX6 RGB White fan.
Note that not all stress test runs yield the same results. This can be due to many factors such as mounting pressure, thermal paste application, and ambient temperature changes. Not to mention the difference in silicon even for chips in the same category. Therefore, it is appropriate to mention the test method along with the details.
Let’s see the result.

Ambient temperature is 18-20℃ about. There is an approximate difference 1.3℃ Between DeepCool fan and darkFlash CX6 RGB White fan. DeepCool FK120 is up to 2000 rpm static pressure rating 3.27 mm H₂O and airflow rating 85.85 CFMThe FK120 is clearly a high performance fan optimized for high static pressure. Despite all this, darkFlash fans gave us a great performance.

Conclusion
The first products we tested from darkFlash are these CX6 AURORA SPECTRUM RGB White Fans. darkFlash offers these fans under the budget segment. They are available in PWM and voltage-based configurations. I tried the PWM version. These fans are also available in black, pink, and neo-mint colors. Therefore, since these fans are A-RGB, color customization is a good fit for these fans, another advantage of colored frames.
The CX6 RGB White fan has 7 translucent blades with 3D stripe design to improve airflow and reduce air resistance. The white frame of the fan is very stylish and blends well with the overall look. Not only that, but the anti-vibration pads are also white. darkFlash mentions the frame as a focused design. I’m not sure what that means, as I don’t see any specular reflections that help generate a focused airflow in the frame. Anyway, these are great options at this price point, so no complaints there.
The size of these fans is 120mm and the dimensions are 120x120x25mm. It has a rated speed of 800 ~ 2000±10% RPM, a maximum airflow rating of 55.29 CFM, and a static pressure rating of 1.63 mm H₂O. The noise level is 018-30 dB(A). They use rifle bearings with a lifespan of 30,000 hours.
These fans have standard 3-pin (5V) A-RGB connectors and 4-pin PWM. By using standard connectors, these fans are compatible with most motherboards and external controllers. We tested the fan on a GIGABYTE X670E AORUS MASTER motherboard and it responded well to dynamic and static color mode changes using RGB FUSION 2.0.
Single fan pack of darkFlash CX6 AURORA SPECTRUM RB White is available on local market for PKR 18000/-. darkFlash also has a list of 3-in-1 and 5-in-1 Fun Packs. The single fan packs don’t have a controller and I don’t know if the 3 and 5 fan packs come with a controller.
We pitched these fans against DeepCool’s high-performance FK120 fans, which use better bearings and pack strong stats. Thermal testing found the CX6 fan to lag behind the FK120 by 1.3°C. This is actually the better performance of these fans given the average rating, which darkFlash targets for case ventilation. This is where these fans work very well as they generate a lot of airflow. darkFlash seems to offer these fans his one-year warranty, but the local dealer only offers a checkbook warranty. The only caveat I’ve found is that these fans make a lot of noise at full speed, I would recommend a custom fan his curve.
