OnePlus sends triple Hasselblad cameras into a “black hole” bump

China’s OnePlus has once again leveraged Hasselblad’s imaging expertise for its new flagship smartphone camera system. The camera array has improved resolution, the 11 5G has his Qualcomm’s latest chipset, and fast charging will get him a battery charge in less than 30 minutes.

New OnePlus flagship features 6.7-inch 2K (3,216 x 1,440) OLED Dolby Vision screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 7 on top, adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz, 1.2 million:1 dynamic contrast and 1,300 nits It has a peak of Luminance. This sits on top of an aluminum midframe, and the smartphone also comes with a glass back.

Under the hood, OnePlus has taken the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform to power the 11, supporting 3.2 GHz octa-core processing and Adreno 740 graphics with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

A Hasselblad-branded triple-camera array on the back is housed within a “black hole-inspired” circular bump. This appears to match the camera specs of Oppo’s recently announced Find N2 handset, albeit wrapped in a different housing.

The 50 MP F1.8 main camera is built around Sony’s IMX890 sensor and boasts support for optical image stabilization. Equipped with an IMX709 sensor and a “13-channel multispectral sensor,” Snapper delivers on the promise of color accuracy, RAW image processing capabilities, 2x optical zoom, and natural background blur.

You can record up to 8K/24fps video or 4K at 60 frames per second from the rear setup, and a 16 MP/1,080p selfie camera in the front punch hole completes your smartphone photo/video chops.

The handset runs the company’s Color OS 13, which is based on Android 13, and features a graphite heatsink and liquid cooling for “strong heat dissipation” during heavy use. In addition to 5G mobile connectivity, users can take advantage of Wi-Fi 6 and also have Bluetooth 5.3 built-in.

The 5,000 mAh battery is still retained by the new flagships, but the 11 has 100 W fast charging support, which can reach 50% in 10 minutes and fully in 25 minutes.

The OnePlus 11 5G will be available in China from January 9th and will be available in global markets on February 7th. The handset will launch with a new flavor of the company’s true wireless earbuds called Buds Pro 2. Audio and adaptive noise cancellation.
