Amazon announced this morning that it will be expanding its Buy with Prime service to US-based merchants by the end of the month. The service, which enables third-party merchants to offer Prime benefits such as free shipping and returns on their own apps, will initially be available to merchants using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) to handle shipping and logistics. was only available.
The service was first introduced in Spring 2022 and was offered by invitation only to FBA merchants and other select merchants.
With Buy with Prime, consumers enjoy fast, free shipping similar to Amazon.com’s Prime service, plus seamless checkout and easy returns, allowing merchants to communicate directly with their customers. A relationship can be established, Amazon says.
Amazon claims the service has increased shopper conversions by an average of 25% since its debut in April.
He notes that they measured the success of Buy with Prime by comparing conversions over the same time period for sites that offered Buy with Prime as a purchase option versus sites that did not. Buy on Prime will open to all interested US-based merchants on January 31, 2023, and no invitation is required at that time.
