Wedyan Babatain, a postdoctoral fellow in the Tangible Media Research Group, was named one of them. MIT Technology Review‘Innovators Under 35: Middle East and North Africa (MENA)’ (2022). She was recognized for her work in developing her platform of soft, multifunctional wearables using graphene and liquid metal-based electronics.

Dr. Babathein graduated from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Twal, Saudi Arabia, where she received a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, and the University of Delaware, where she studied in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in . Her research focuses on developing soft and flexible sensors, actuators and their manufacturing strategies for healthcare and interactive applications.
