Most Bluetooth speakers have a similar design aesthetic and are intended for portable use. The Trettire TreSound 1 isn’t his one of those speakers. Designed for the home, it has a design and sound quality that makes it hard to believe it’s the best Bluetooth speaker.
But first, some numbers. The TreSound 1 has a total of 5 drivers, weighs 13 pounds and is priced at $699 at audio retailers such as Linsoul Audio. Clearly Trettitre positions his TreSound 1 for an audience that cares as much about design as it does about sound quality, and while it’s not a value-oriented product, it definitely stands out.
Design is a key issue here and an area where the TreSound 1 absolutely shines. It’s literally. The speaker is stunning with its unique conical design and stands at a massive 16.9 inches tall. It towers easily over the Marshall Stanmore, which has been my home office workhorse for over seven years, and I have to think about where to put the TreSound 1.
What sets the TreSound 1 apart is its metal and wood chassis, which you’ll immediately feel the weight of when you pick it up. Although he can move, this is designed to keep him in one place. The speakers have a grand piano-like glossy finish, and the metal grille that houses the drivers has gold accents that add a nice contrast to the design.
Finally, there is a dial at the top to control the volume. I’m a big fan of analog controls and Trettitre did a great job integrating the volume knob into the chassis. Rounded is an LED light on the base of the unit that illuminates when the unit is powered on. This adds ambient lighting and contributes to TreSound 1’s uniqueness.
The TreSound 1 comes in white, black, red and green, and the green model I’m using stands out. A rich green hue combined with gold accents on the metal grille and volume control knob adds elegance to the speaker. If you want an even bolder design, check out the red version.
It’s clear that a lot of thought went into designing the TreSound 1, and the speaker makes a bold statement in this particular area. Thankfully, Trettitre have put similar attention to sound quality, and the TreSound 1 has a total of five drivers. A 30W 5.25″ subwoofer housed in the base, two 15W 2.25″ full frequency drivers and two 1.25 drivers. An inch tweeter located under a metal grill.
This design allows the TreSound 1 to project 360-degree sound and does a great room-filling job. The most surprising thing about this sound is the rich bass. The TreSound 1 delivers vibrant bass with lots of definition and clarity, with excellent sub-bass extension and excellent delivery. We weren’t sure how the speaker would hold up in this area due to its conical design, but the TreSound 1 produces meaty, vibrant and satisfying bass.
Likewise, the midrange has airiness and clarity with good timbre and definition. The treble is a little on the bright side, but it doesn’t get sibilance or harsh. Overall, Trettitre did a great job tuning here. The TreSound 1 is his one of the best sounding Bluetooth speakers you can find today.

In terms of connectivity, there are also a lot of things I like. The TreSound 1 was paired via Bluetooth 5.1 and had no issues connecting with the Pixel 7 Pro. There’s also the AptX HD codec, but it misses Wi-Fi connectivity and integration with multi-room audio solutions.
That said, there’s a 3.5 mm jack on the back that lets you connect Chromecast Audio to cast your music wirelessly. This is what I do with his Stanmore, and I started using the TreSound 1 in a similar fashion. Although portable, the TreSound 1 has no built-in battery and must always be plugged into the wall.
I like Bluetooth speakers that fill an entire room with sound. I’ve been using his Stanmore from Marshall in my home office for the past 7 years and it still works great. It has bold style, great sound, and analog knobs.
I didn’t find a similarly sounding speaker that ticked all of these boxes until the TreSound 1 came along, and I’ll be using it as my default option in the office from now on. But on the plus side, TreSound 1 is a clear conversation starter.
