The Victrix Pro BFG is one of the best full-featured pro controllers we’ve ever tested, and it’s been carefully engineered as well. The controller is mostly plastic with soft grips around the front and rear handles. On the front, there are also left and right modules. The left module houses the directional pad and analog sticks, while the right module has options for buttons and sticks or a 6-button fightpad.

These just take seconds to plug in using the included screwdriver. The module can be easily plugged in without too much trouble thanks to the light magnetism. You can also swap the position of the directional pad to your liking. Additionally, if you’re an avid fighting game player, you can switch the stick gate from circular to octagonal.

On PC, I transitioned the Victrix Pro BFG into Guilty Gear: Strive’s Fight Pad mode. We replaced the D-Pad, switched the right module to a 6-button layout, and optimized the buttons on the controller. We also switched stick gates to octagons to allow some grapplers with 360-degree motion inputs that would otherwise be difficult to do.

The directional pad layout originally used a conventional directional pad, but it felt a little strange, and the disc-shaped directional pad was more comfortable instead. I found it difficult to get diagonal inputs, which require a bit of an adjustment period.

The Victrix Pro BFG has almost everything. For some reason, however, Victrix has opted not for Hall-effect analog sticks, as we’ve seen before with companies like 8BitDo. This means the controller is prone to drift problems over the years. It’s certainly not a perfect device, but it has pretty much everything you’d expect from a PS5 controller.
