of M3GAN, Gemma is a robotics expert and toy developer currently working on a new project for Funki, a technologically advanced toy company. The project is a lifelike doll called M3GAN (Model 3 Generative Android). This is an artificially intelligent robot designed to be a companion and playmate for young children.
While working on this project, Gemma receives news that her sister and brother-in-law have died in a car accident, leaving only her daughter Cady to survive. Her caddy lost her parents and she was involved in an accident herself, so Gemma agreed to take her in and give her a new home.
First, Gemma and Cady have a hard time adjusting to this new arrangement. But things change when Gemma introduces her M3GAN to her Cady. M3GAN is programmed to react to her Cady and become her new best friend.
However, as time passes, M3GAN’s intelligence and her desire to protect Cady begin to grow. From here she becomes violent with those around her, putting both Gemma and Cady in imminent danger.
Directed by Gerald Johnstone, M3GAN Starring Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Amy Donald and Jenna Davis. The film, her sci-fi horror comedy, is currently in general release in the US, but will arrive in UK cinemas on Friday.
If you’re a horror fan, a fan of killer doll movies, or just want an excuse to go to the cinema this weekend, I highly recommend watching it. M3GANThe film is smart, terribly dark, and full of black humor.
Get inspired from the beginning chucky Movies – more specifically recent playing house Reboot – M3GAN A satirical look at the advancements of modern technology and AI. Seeing our relationship with tech gadgets, how the younger generation is exposed to incredibly advanced and sometimes questionable kit, we intertwine all this with good old fashioned gadgets. Horror.
Some parts of the movie are creepy, some scenes are suspenseful, and there are some downright fun moments. It’s clear and this tone is maintained across the screen.
Keeping the whole movie on track is director Gerald Johnstone. There are few directorial credits on his resume, but he has proven that he is more than capable of delivering great pictures.When M3GANAttracts the audience’s interest from the beginning, never lets go, and keeps them entertained.
And what’s interesting is that M3GANJohnston presents thoroughly enjoyable horror that isn’t filled with endless gore. M3GAN is certified PG-13 in the US and 15 in the UK, but it works perfectly without going as hard or extreme as possible.
I think this movie’s rating was imposed by the studio to give teenage audiences a chance to see it. M3GAN at the cinema. And I always want a little more gore in my horror, no complaints from me. Because a.) the movie works no matter how much blood there is in the picture, and b.) this is such a great movie for horror-loving teens.
With an amazing dual performance from Amie Donald and Jenna Davis, who respectively provide the body double and voice of the M3GAN dolls, and perfectly timed horror, M3GAN It’s staggering. Yes, it’s sometimes silly and takes a well-worn path, but confidently winks at its audience.
No doubt there will be a sequel at some point in the future. I’m looking forward to seeing how this series might evolve with another entry. There is no doubt that
