The box contains documentation and a charging cradle along with the watch.

design

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is simple and has the aesthetic appeal that many have noted for the watch. I got the large one for review, which is a little more expensive than the smaller version. Yes. Behind the dial is a bioactivity sensor to monitor activity. The dial is surrounded by an aluminum casing and a wide strap intelligently distributes the weight on your wrist. It doesn’t weigh you down at all, and you can wear it all day without feeling the weight on your wrist.

screen

Samsung has ditched the rotating bezel on the Watch 5 series, and the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 comes with a flat display, without the bezel, making it more prone to damage that the bezel could have prevented. has a 3.46cm AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 450 x 450 pixels. The screen is bright and easy to see even in bright daylight. The touch interface is smooth. This is one of the upgrades he notices when compared to his predecessor. The watch’s display is made of sapphire crystal glass and is IP68 rated to withstand water splashes.

As you know with all smartwatches, the watch face can be customized. The new Watch5 is no exception and you can customize the watch face according to your taste.

OS and processor

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch5 comes with Android Wear OS 3.5, One UI Watch 4.5, powered by Exynos W920 (5nm) chipset and dual-core 1.18Ghz Cortex-A55 processor. Wear OS 3.5 comes with all Google services like Gmail, Maps, Assistant and more. The interface is very smooth and easy to use. This watch is super easy to pair with any Android device. The watch comes with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB ROM size. The Bluetooth has been upgraded as the new Watch5 comes with version 5.2 and the Watch4 contains version 5.0. Upgraded Bluetooth provides a better connection with your phone.

smart function

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch5 comes with the ability to make calls and use smart gestures to accept or reject calls. The link is clickable on the new Watch5. Call quality is fine. You can use it if you don’t mind talking to your watch. You can also set an alarm on your watch, get the latest weather, and connect your watch to a Bluetooth headset to play music.

health function

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch5 comes with an advanced BioActive sensor to monitor your health. The watch tracks your normal activity, including steps taken, walking speed, and calories burned. The watch can measure body composition, body fat, BMI, body water, BMR, skeletal muscle and sleep. Shows activity and gives feedback on sleep patterns. The watch has normal heart rate monitoring and can also measure your stress level, but we cannot guarantee its accuracy.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 also has different exercise modes like walking, running, biking, hiking and swimming, and even includes a gym workout mode to help you keep track of your exercise. You have to wear the watch for at least 7 nights to get the information. The watch also measures blood oxygen levels, which you enable by scrolling through the watch’s display, but we don’t know how accurate the measurements are, as we didn’t have the proper medical equipment to compare the measurements.

The company has also put a skin temperature sensor on the new Galaxy Watch 5, but so far we haven’t encountered the feature on the watch or the Wear app, and the company says it’s due towards the end of the year.

battery

The 44mm version of the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 comes with a 410mAh battery, an upgrade from its predecessor. The watch only lasts a day on a single charge, but needs to be recharged for the next day. I feel the company could have improved the battery life for top performance.Charging speeds are average and the watch requires a USB-C adapter to charge. It takes about 1:20-1:30 hours for the watch to fully charge.

Conclusion

Without a doubt, the new Samsung Galaxy Watch5 is one of the best Android watches on the market. The health tracking feature has a bright display to keep you visible in any situation. It looks very simple and elegant. One thing we didn’t like is the battery life. This is because at the end of a tiring day, you add one more thing to your to-do list: recharging your watch for the next day.
