live a bad life
As password managers continue to be compromised, NortonLifeLock users have or will receive notice that they have been severely compromised. Norton informed the user that someone had compromised their system and harvested both usernames and passwords, unfortunately the breach happened in early December of his.
Norton reset passwords for all affected accounts, but the attackers may have harvested customers’ first and last names, phone numbers, and mailing addresses. Also, it’s unlikely that someone using Norton has a similar password for another account. Until these passwords are updated, they are vulnerable.
Bleeping Computer has reached out to Norton for the total number of compromised accounts, but has yet to hear back. It’s also unclear how the attacker was able to obtain the actual password, not just the hash. At the very least, it should make you think twice about using Norton products.
