Apple will soon phase out iTunes starting with its last platform, Windows. Microsoft has announced that it will add preview versions of his three new Apple apps: Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Devices, as part of Windows 11 preview builds for insiders.
Apple Music not only provides access to the paid Apple Music service, but also serves Windows users’ local music libraries.

Apple TV bundles Apple’s TV+ subscription with original content, as well as content from Paramount+, AMC+, Showtime, Starz and more. You can also find iTunes purchased movies here and rent new releases.

Apple devices take over syncing to Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod), local backup and restore, and urgent software updates. This functionality has moved to the Finder in macOS when you connect your iPhone.

This leaves podcasts and books as the only meaningful features of iTunes excluded from Apple Music, TV, and devices. It’s not clear if Apple will add these to a new app later, or if he’s planning his fourth app just for them.
Microsoft warns that installing one of these new preview apps will stop iTunes on Windows, so be careful if you have a large curated local library. Uninstalling the new app will allow you to install iTunes again.
