Lenovo unveils new ThinkPad laptops and ThinkVision monitors ahead of CES 2023

Lenovo announced a number of new ThinkPad laptops, ThinkVision monitors, IdeaPad laptops, IdeaCentre Mini desktops, and Tab M9 tablets ahead of CES 2023. The new devices are primarily focused on the new hybrid work environment, introducing a new lightweight device, the 2-in-1. models, and ultraportable laptops with the latest Intel Core processors.


Lenovo also unveiled half a dozen accessories to help users live more efficiently in the new hybrid ecosystem. The company announced a new Lenovo Go Desk Station, Lenovo Go 4K Pro webcam, Lenovo Professional Wireless Rechargeable Combo Keyboard and Mouse, and new Lenovo L-series, T-series and 4K ThinkVision P-series monitors.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon (11th Gen)

The new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon features a large 14-inch OLED display. Available in resolutions up to 2.8K, with 400 nits of brightness and HDR500. The side bezels are thin, and there’s also an FHD camera with an IR sensor on top. The laptop runs Windows 11 and has dimensions of 315.6 x 222.5 x 15.36 mm. ThinkPad X1 is also super lightweight at just 2.48 pounds (1.12 kg).

In terms of specs, it’s powered by the latest Intel Core processors and can be configured with up to 64GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of Gen 4 PCIe NVMe SSD. It has Intel Iris X Graphics, a Dolby Atmos speaker with Dolby Voice, and his 360-degree mic for conference talk.

In terms of ports, there are two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A 3.2, HDMI 2.0b and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The laptop also has Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E and also supports 5G sub-6GHz, 4G LTE with eSIM and Nano SIM. The X1 Carbon also has a 57 Whr battery and a fingerprint reader embedded in the power button. It also has a dTPM 2.0 chip inside and is MIL-STD 810H certified.

ThinkPad X1 Yoga (8th Gen)

Like the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, the X1 Yoga features a 14-inch 4K OLED panel with 500 nits of brightness, and some models also have an AOFT Touch option. The display can also be flipped into tent mode, so users can prop it up and use it however they please.The X1 Yoga features an FHD camera and an IR MIPI sensor. The laptop comes pre-installed with Windows 11 and is fairly small at 314.4 x 222.3 x 15.53 mm. The device weighs 3 pounds (1.36 kg).

Inside, you’ll find the latest Intel Core processors, up to 64GB of LPDDR5 memory, up to 2TB of Gen 4 PCIe NVMe SSD, and Intel Iris X graphics. Like the X1 Carbon, it supports Dolby Voice and Dolby Atmos audio with quad-array 360-degree microphones.

The ThinkPad X1 Nano features a traditional compact form factor. It’s slim and lightweight, with slim bezels for a modern, seamless look. It features a 13-inch display with up to 2K resolution and 450 nits brightness. Some models also have an AOFT touch option. Like the other ThinkPads on this list, it comes with an FHD camera and an IR MIPI sensor. The X1 Nano weighs just 2.13 pounds (0.97 kg) and measures 293.2 x 208 x 14.47 mm.

In terms of configuration, the ThinkPad X1 Nano has almost the same settings as other refreshed ThinkPads. Powered by the latest Intel Core processors, it comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5 memory, up to 2TB Gen 4 PCIe NVMe SSD, and Intel Iris X graphics. As for the battery, it has a 49.6Whr cell.

The ThinkPad X1 Nano has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A 3.2, HDMI 2.0b and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E and 5G sub-6GHz, 4G LTE with eSIM and Nano SIM. There’s also a dTPM 2.0 chip, a fingerprint reader, and MIL-STD 810H. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano (Gen 3) will be available from April 2023 starting at $1,649.

ThinkVision P27pz-30 & P32pz-30 (30th Gen)

The new P-series monitors come with a mini LED display that supports 1,152 dimming zones. It comes in 27-inch and 31.5-inch screen sizes and supports HDR10 and HLG formats. It’s also DisplayHDR1000 certified, reaching a peak brightness of 1200 nits. Lenovo says both monitors are great for creators as they include DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB standards and feature flicker-free technology to reduce eye strain.

Lenovo’s ThinkColours software makes it easy to configure and manage colors, automatically dims the screen when you walk away, and adjusts screen brightness based on ambient light.

The new monitor also connects to USB-C or Thunderbolt compatible laptops, phones and tablets, offering up to 40Gbps data and video transfer over a single USB4 cable. It also supports up to 4K monitors via daisy chain and can power smartphones up to 15W and other devices up to 140W.

The monitor has 3 USB Type-C ports, 4 Type-A ports, 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, and Ethernet and DP ports. According to Lenovo, the stand is made of 90% PCC aluminum, 95% PCC ABS for the back cover, and 85% PCC ABS for the bezel and stand, making it less waste and more environmentally friendly. .

The ThinkVision P32pz-30 will be available starting August 2023 for $1,599. Pricing for the ThinkVision Mini LED P27pz-30 for North America will be announced at a later date, but Lenovo has confirmed that the price in Europe will be his €1,699 and will go on sale in August 2023.

The new ThinkVision VoIP monitors (T27hv-30, T24mv-30, and T24v-30) include integrated features that enhance and simplify your virtual meeting experience. The new monitor features a 5MP camera with infrared sensor, separate RGB lens and privacy shutter, built-in dual microphones with noise cancellation, and two integrated 5W speakers.

The new generation VoIP monitor includes a dedicated Microsoft Teams button that instantly launches the application, allowing users to instantly join conference calls with the push of a button. These monitors also support Windows Hello for a more secure login option.

According to Lenovo, these monitors also have traffic lights, which can turn red when the user is on a call or spends too much time in front of the monitor. There’s also a distance warning that warns if the user is too close to the display. It also has a “human/light sensor” that can automatically adjust the blue light on the screen.

The new ThinkVision T27hv-30 comes with a 27-inch QHD panel, while the ThinkVision T24mv-30 and T24v-30 have 23.8-inch FHD IPS displays. The T27hv-30 and T24mv-30 also support USB-C for upstream.

Lenovo ThinkVision VOIP monitors (T27hv-30, T24mv-30, and T24v-30) will be available from May 2023. Prices start at $519, $399, and $259 respectively.

Those who work in front of dual monitor setups will appreciate this new behemoth. The new ThinkVision P49w-30 is ultrawide at 49 inches diagonal. Equipped with a QHD IPS panel, it offers a contrast ratio of 2000:1. It has 13 ports, including a docking feature with two Thunderbolt 4 ports that can deliver up to 100W of power, and a front USB-C port with 15W fast charging capability.

The monitor supports a wide variety of desktops and laptops, and Lenovo claims it’s the perfect device that can act as a 2-in-1 solution without having to deal with all the cables. You can also switch between two PC sources with just one click. Also, True Split allows the user to split one monitor into two and adjust settings and aspect ratios independently.

ThinkVision P49w-30 also supports daisy chaining up to two other double QHD monitors via Thunderbolt 4 and features two built-in 5W speakers. Additionally, the monitor supports the ThinkVision MC60 modular camera and microphone. The new Lenovo ThinkVision P49w-30 will be available starting June 2023 for $1,699.
