Last October, Gurman outlined Apple’s possible Mac launches next year, including M2-based versions of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. However, he does not believe a January or February launch will take place, pointing out that early March is the most likely announcement time.
Apple’s MacBook may finally have a touchscreen
The new Macs will likely look similar to their predecessors, which launched in 2021, but the biggest change is the new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips inside. According to Gurman, the M2 Max will have up to 12 CPU cores (up from 10 in the M1 Max) and the top graphics option will have 38 cores (up from 32).
A new Mac mini is also reportedly in the works, and Apple could launch it alongside the new MacBook. It will be powered by either the M2 or M2 Pro chip, and the design remains unchanged from the current model.
This is not official, and Apple’s Newsroom and Store are currently silent on the matter. We will update this article if we see any changes there.
