If one thing remains, it’s the decline in startup investment last year. According to CB Insights, one of the sources for which the State of Venture report is today, total venture funding in 2022 will be $415.1 billion, 35% less than in 2021.
According to the PitchBook-NVCA Venture Monitor report, deal numbers are more stable, with 2022 estimated deal numbers approaching 2021 figures. But looking at the quarterly data, we can see that the number of deals in the fourth quarter was his lowest in 2022. This doesn’t necessarily bode well for 2023.
