Over the past year, the Chromebook market has exploded in popularity far beyond the classroom. Not only are Chromebooks more powerful than ever, but Google is now working with Valve, NVIDIA, Amazon and Microsoft to make cloud gaming services more accessible.
One example is the new ChromeOS Cloud Gaming Launcher. This allows you to search for games on cloud services directly from the launcher. This makes starting the game as easy as if you installed it directly on your Chromebook.
Install the cloud gaming web app
Before you can start using the ChromeOS Cloud Gaming Launcher, you must first install a suitable Progressive Web App (PWA). If you’ve managed to get your hands on one of the best gaming Chromebooks, you probably already have some of these installed. But if you’re on a non-gaming Chromebook or don’t have a decent PWA at your disposal, you can still install it.

still have some quirks
The ChromeOS Cloud Gaming Launcher appears to be available for most Chromebooks in the company, but not all Chromebooks. For example, the screenshots in the section above were taken with an Acer Chromebook 516 GE. However, even though I had GeForce Now installed on my HP Chromebook x360, I was only getting classic Google search results.
Google regularly pushes new updates that improve the overall usability and reliability of various features. And the whole “game-centric his Chromebook” initiative is still in its early stages. Unfortunately, there is no way to “force” Chromebooks to use the ChromeOS Cloud Gaming Launcher. If you can’t open the game directly from the launcher, you’ll have to resort to finding it manually within the freely available cloud gaming service.

enough power
The Acer Chromebook 516 GE is one of the best gaming Chromebooks thanks to its massive 16-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 516 GE is positioned as his Chromebook for cloud gaming, but it also offers plenty of power if you want to get work done.
