The introduction of ChatGPT is intriguing and a little intimidating. As a writer, I like to scoff at the idea that technology can write anything like humans. At the same time, I was interested in reading the work written by ChatGPT. It was also because I loved the whole writing process.
Dolly Parton said, “I feel closest to God when I write.” So it’s hard to believe that any kind of computer program or artificial intelligence can bring light and beauty and emotion into the way people write.
My friend Dave, a tech guru, has been plugging questions into ChatGPT. Knowing I was a fly swatter collector, Dave sent me the results for his request to “write an article comparing God to the fly swatter.”
I was thrilled with this great challenge. And I thought you would enjoy reading what ChatGPT wrote and then reading what I wrote.
