What you need to know

  • A sample image has appeared in a new leak, apparently taken by the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 200MP camera.
  • This photo appears to be a 12x magnification of the actual scene.
  • Based on camera samples, the phone’s main sensor has impressive zoom quality without disturbing digital artifacts.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is shaping up to be a camera powerhouse as it could feature a 200MP camera, and a sample camera comparison leaked late last year shows how that translates into real photos. A new leak from the same source has surfaced, offering details about the camera’s zoom performance, but not in the way you’d expect.

According to Ice Universe, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S23 series top-of-the-line model will be able to take more natural-looking zoomed photos (via Android Authority) (opens in new tab)). The leaker shared on Twitter what appears to be a cropped image taken with her 200MP camera on the S23 Ultra. It is said to represent a 12x magnification of the main camera, which is powered by Samsung’s ISOCELL HP2 sensor.
