Samsung adds Galaxy S22 to iFixit self-repair program

Last August, Samsung announced a promising but incomplete self repair program for that device. Just a little more complete.

Samsung earlier this week announced(opens in new window) Its self-healing program has grown to include several new devices.Most notably the Galaxy S22 line of phones, including the base S22. S22+When S22 UltraApart from that, 15-inch Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 laptop owners can also get genuine repair parts from Samsung.

Samsung self-repair program i will fix(opens in new window), a kind of central online hub for finding both repair manuals and repair parts for technical products. Until now, the only devices supported were the Galaxy S20 and S21 lines and the Galaxy Tab S7+ tablet. Obviously, it has become a very restrictive service for those who want to fix their own gadgets.

Now the restrictions are a little less restrictive. Galaxy S22 owners can replace the back glass, display, and charging port through iFixit. Galaxy Book Pro customers can go a little further with iFixit offering repair parts for components like the touchpad, fingerprint reader and battery.
