Hands-on with Motorola’s refreshingly fun viva magenta Edge 30 Fusion

There is no sensible argument for the Viva Magenta Motorola Edge 30 Fusion. It costs $799 and doesn’t include wireless charging, an IP68 rating, or a telephoto camera. In 2023, $800 should get you at least two. But here’s the problem. It’s fun. Fun is seriously underrated when it comes to smartphones.

A lot of that fun factor has to do with the Edge 30 Fusion’s best and most obvious feature: its colors. I think it’s pink, but my source (many people on twitter) Tell me it’s actually red. Not just red. Viva Magenta is the official color of the 2023 Pantone Color of the Year.

Pantone uses compulsory alliteration when it says it “vibrates with liveliness and vitality.” It also appears to “revitalize the mind and strengthen inner strength.” I’ve been using the phone for a few days now and can’t say that my mind is more or less electrified, but recently I mustered up the courage to do a thorough cleaning of the inside of my fridge.Viva his magenta Has exposure to been helpful, who can say?

I’ve been using the phone for a few days and I can’t say that my spirit is more or less energized

In any case, this pink The phone stands out from most other modern smartphones, whether it builds inner strength or not. 4 of them are black. Forest greens and midnight blues are sometimes mixed in, but none are as eye-catching as viva magenta. A welcome change from muted rectangles.

The magenta version of the Edge 30 Fusion also comes with color-coordinated wireless earbuds. When was the last time you bought a phone with wireless earbuds? in the box? Probably never is that time.? They’re not exactly top notch, but they’re surprisingly good.

The noise cancellation is practical, with both the phone and earbuds supporting Dolby Atmos sound, which they claim provides “clearer dialogue, crisper detail and more engaging sound.”It sounds like marketing gibberish, but what do you know? teeth Quite charming.Sounds from episodes of white lotus Watching rich people immerse themselves in their own problems made it richer and more immersive. Inspiring color.

The Viva Magenta version of the Edge 30 Fusion comes with a pair of color-coordinated wireless earbuds. And they are not bad!

To sweeten the deal, the Edge 30 Fusion has a leather-like finish on the back, which not only looks great, but makes the phone easier to hold in one hand. The surface of the unit seems to hang on to stronger scents more aggressively than an all-glass device. It took days. It’s certainly not mind-boggling. Anyway, I asked Motorola about this, but the company hasn’t responded.

Other than all the cosmetics, the Edge 30 Fusion is also a great phone. It features a Snapdragon 888 Plus processor, blazing performance, a fancy 6.55″ OLED with a 144Hz refresh rate, and fast 68W wired charging (cable and charging brick included). There’s a 50-megapixel stable main camera, a 32-megapixel selfie camera with heavy face smoothing turned on by default, and a 13-megapixel ultrawide. But it’s all very nice.

However, I can say with absolute certainty that it’s a Viva Magenta Est phone that you can buy at any price. Judging by the reactions I got when I posted it on Twitter, so might a lot of people. And even if it’s not sold in magenta, it’s always there next year.
