Hands-on with Motorola’s refreshingly fun viva magenta Edge 30 Fusion

There is no sensible argument for the Viva Magenta Motorola Edge 30 Fusion. It costs $799 and doesn’t include wireless charging, an IP68 rating, or a telephoto camera. In 2023, $800 should get you at least two. But here’s the problem. It’s fun. Fun is seriously underrated when it comes to smartphones.

There’s a 50-megapixel stable main camera, a 32-megapixel selfie camera with heavy face smoothing turned on by default, and a 13-megapixel ultrawide. But it’s all very nice.

However, I can say with absolute certainty that it’s a Viva Magenta Est phone that you can buy at any price. Judging by the reactions I got when I posted it on Twitter, so might a lot of people. And even if it’s not sold in magenta, it’s always there next year.
