Hero colors for the Galaxy S23 series confirmed, S23 Ultra image sensors detailed

While there’s very little we still don’t know about the Galaxy S23 series, some details are still trickling in. For starters, Evan Blass dug up images showing each phone’s hero color.

Botanic green is my favorite color for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. As for the smaller siblings, the Galaxy S23 prefers cotton flower and the Galaxy S23+ prefers misty lilac. From what we’ve seen so far, the three models come in the same four colorways of his (fourth being the standard Phantom Black). Check out other images here. By the way, Samsung.com usually has a few dedicated colorways, four of which are for carriers and retailers.

Moving on to the hardware details, the displays on all three Galaxy S23 models offer a peak brightness of 1,750 nits. The outgoing Galaxy S22 Ultra and S22+ can also hit 1,750 nits, while the smaller S22 is limited to 1,300 nits.

Finally, a list of image sensors used in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It is already clear that the 200MP ISOCELL HP2 will replace the 108MP HM3 in the main module. The ultra wide angle has been swapped from the 12MP sensor to another sensor (Sony IMX563 to IMX564) and the 3x and 10x telephoto modules continue to use the same sensor as before (IMX754). As you may have already heard, the selfie camera drops to 12MP by replacing the GH1 with the ISOCELL 3LU (the S23 and S23+ probably use the same sensor).

In case you missed it, today a Galaxy S23 Ultra camera sample showcased its low-light photography skills.

The Galaxy S23 series will be announced next week, and pre-orders should start soon (you can already pre-order the unit, but that’s not a proper pre-order, just a case to secure an early discount.
