When it comes to climate, pictures can appear dark.
Greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change are estimated to reach new heights in 2022. Meanwhile, climate disasters seem to strike at a furious pace, from record heatwaves in China and Europe to devastating floods in Pakistan.
However, a closer look at global data reveals some bright spots of good news and many potential advances ahead. It’s getting cheaper every year. Countries are also setting new targets to cut emissions, and unprecedented public investment could unlock further technological advances.
So, while it may feel like a barrage of bad news, there are at least some reasons for hope. Read full text.

These Simple Design Rules Could Upend The Chip Industry
Since the invention of computers, humans have devised many programming languages to instruct them to carry out instructions. For the chip to execute code, software must translate the code into instructions that the chip can use. So engineers specify certain binary her sequences to prompt the hardware to perform certain actions, known as the computer’s instruction set.
