Under full CPU load (Blender, Classroom render test run 5 times in a row), the maximum I saw was 461 watts on the wall. 435 Watts was typical power consumption under CPU load, with less than 400 Watts total for lighter workloads. When the graphics card was doing most of the work, the power consumption hit 501 watts at the wall.

As for heat, here we focused on the processor. This is because it was cooled using a Lenovo solution and the NVIDIA graphics card used its own stock cooling. The Threadripper PRO 5995WX is a very power hungry part and when all the cores were stressed for a while (5 consecutive Blender Classroom tests, same as the power consumption test), the average temperature of the cores dropped to 75.3 C (approximately 17 C) was reached.

In terms of noise, under full CPU load, the system stayed below 40 dBA, with the highest noise level observed being 39.3 dBA when the meter was positioned just 12 inches from the front panel. I was a little worried when I saw that the CPU fan is only 80mm (and the case fan isn’t that big), but the system is well balanced and the fan doesn’t spin faster than it should.
