Located in Mount Hutt, New Zealand’s South Island, this tiny home is ideally situated in a picturesque alpine setting, offering guests a unique getaway away from the bustling city lifestyle. . The 17.3-square-meter (186-square-foot) Kelleroo Retreat was constructed using salvaged wood and galvanized iron. Complete with off-grid system including rooftop solar panels, rainwater collection tank, wood burning fireplace and composting toilet.

Panoramic windows complement the main sleeping space. The windows can be closed completely with barn-like wooden shutters for privacy or when the house is not in use.
The bare wood kitchen has all the essentials including gas stove, hot water, mini fridge, kettle and overhead storage. Compact bathrooms feature hand-crafted copper plumbing with exposed pipes, composting toilets, wood cabinetry, and steel-framed showers with wood-slate floors.
