Gorilla Glass Victus 2 to debut on Samsung Galaxy S23

Samsung has a history of introducing powerful new display technologies into mobile phones. The same is true for:

According to Corning, Victus 2 can withstand drops of up to 1 meter onto concrete and up to 2 meters onto asphalt. If you don’t believe me, there are some YouTube videos of drop and scratch tests showing how well it works.

Side note: Dropping your phone onto a hard surface to test screen durability sounds like a fun job.

As for the end of Samsung’s negotiations, the timing of this announcement unpacked galaxy Broadcast next Wednesday. Samsung is widely expected to announce a trio of Galaxy S23 phones at the event, and unless Corning’s announcement is just a coincidence, we can safely assume that these phones will use the Victus 2.

Just remember one thing. The best way to keep your phone from breaking is to never drop it. Do not tempt fate.
