According to Ming-Chi Kuo’s latest memo, Apple won’t be launching a new iPad until 2024. Analysts have revealed that there won’t be any releases in the next “9-12 months,” with the iPad mini being the first to be announced, with mass production set to begin in Q1 2024.
Kuo also said there will be a foldable iPad in 2024, and the main beneficiary will be Suzhou-based manufacturer Anjie Technology, which will produce a “carbon-fiber kickstand.” “We will continue to benefit from the trend of foldable devices with kickstands.” Analysts assume we’re talking about cases, even though most foldable devices can stand on their own.
Apple’s 2023 tablet shipments are expected to be tough, with a projected 10-15% annual decline due to lack of new products. However, the introduction of the new mini and the first foldable Apple device will increase shipments in 2024 and improve the product mix.
According to multiple sources, the new iPad Pro device will feature an OLED panel with a slightly increased diagonal. A December report suggested that a 16-inch iPad could also come, but we’ll have to wait and see.
