Bluetooth speakers come in many shapes and forms. The first step in finding the right speakers for your needs starts with narrowing down the size and budget. You usually don’t need more than $50 or $60 in your pocket to get a great deal.
Brands like Tronsmart, Ultimate Ears, Tribit, and Anker Soundcore dominate the affordable speaker space. Everything you need: tubular speakers, soundbars, boomboxes, and small round audio solutions.
At some point, market oversaturation made things somewhat stale. Thankfully, audio brands are trying to get creative again. His T7 speaker from Tronsmart has built-in RGB lighting and physical volume buttons. It’s not as bold as the JBL Pulse 5, which looks like a smart lava lamp, but the concept is interesting enough.
Of course, what makes it even more appealing is that the T7 outdoor speakers are made for rough use. It also costs him a quarter of the Pulse 5’s retail price. Let’s see if this affordable accessory from Tronsmart is worth the bargain.
Pricing and Availability

Tronsmart launched the T7 Bluetooth speaker in September 2022 at a promotional price of $41.99. The Tronsmart T7 normally retails for $56.99, but online stores such as Amazon, Walmart and Geekbuying frequently have sales and discount coupons.
The latest entrant to Tronsmart’s T-series speakers improves on the cylindrical shape of the previous T6 model. Like its predecessor, the T7 was launched alongside his T7 Mini. This is a smaller, lower-powered version of the larger speaker.
lots of love

Tronsmart has equipped the T7 outdoor speaker with a double tweeter that can produce 30W of sound. The audio is he output at a 360-degree angle, so it spreads evenly throughout the space, especially outdoors.
It sounds really good and you can switch between audio presets to find the right balance for the moment. I was. You get a high level of clarity and excellent low-mids. It may be a cheap speaker, but it certainly isn’t.
The entire body of the tubular T7 is covered with a tough woven nylon fabric. The edges are reinforced with a TPU bezel. A few buttons line the sides, including the charging port at the bottom. The T7 speaker claims IPX7 waterproofing, so the charging port is covered by a waterproof tab, and the memory card slot is also sealed. It has been.
My favorite details are the giant volume knob and the ring-shaped RGB light on top.
My favorite details are the giant circular volume knob on top of the portable speaker and the ring-shaped RGB lights that surround the sound button.
The physical sound controls make it super easy to adjust volume levels and have a satisfying click. You can make ASMR YouTube videos of her featuring clicking knobs. It feels like you’re trying to break into a safe in the climax of a heist.
As for the colorful ring light, it adds just the right amount of flair to the discreet Tronsmart audio accessory. There are four modes for audio playback. You can switch modes with the power button or turn it off completely to save battery.

The T7 Bluetooth Speaker is equipped with the latest Bluetooth 5.3, with regular firmware updates. It has a great companion app and gives you access to features like a custom equalizer. If you want to splurge on two of these bad boys, you can use stereo pairing to sync them up.
After extensive testing, we can vouch for Tronsmart speakers’ robust IPX7 waterproof rating. You can use it safely in heavy rain, in the shower, or by the pool. Both the RGB lights and the volume knob work the same, wet or dry.
The T7 speaker comes with a durable strap for convenient carrying. The box also contains a USB-C charging cable along with the sling.
A memory card slot is an underrated feature of any decent Bluetooth speaker.
Having a memory card slot on any decent Bluetooth speaker is an underrated feature. For example, I saved some of my favorite playlists to a microSD card and popped it into her T7 speakers on a road trip. It helped me save my phone battery and I didn’t even need an internet connection.
When you’re on the go, Tronsmart T7’s play/pause button can activate your phone’s voice assistant. It has a built-in microphone, so you can talk while connected.
Battery life is pretty good, but the RGB lights make the most of its potential. When you turn off the ring light, the T7 Bluetooth speaker will turn on for a while and then turn on for a while. Up to 12 hours of uptime can be squeezed out of it. That’s pretty great for a budget speaker of such aptitude.
I rarely hate

Unfortunately the Tronsmart T7 does not have an audio input jack. This wasn’t too difficult, especially since there’s plenty of room in the sealed section containing the ports.
Another minor inconvenience is the lack of RGB light mode controls in the app. This means you have to rely on the power button, which can be a little tricky at first. This is due to a problem Tronsmart fails to address again and again: poor visibility. The buttons are matte black, and the body of the speaker is also black, making it difficult to determine what each button does.
With Tronsmart Trip, I thought Tronsmart had finally overcome this ridiculous problem. The company should take a leaf out of the Edifier book and highlight the buttons with neon paint, like the recessed buttons on the MP100 Plus. Or, even better, incorporate RGB into your buttons. Oh what would I pay to see that!
3 hours is a very long time to charge a portable speaker.
Additionally, the T7 speaker is not as portable as other cylindrical speakers due to its weight. To get an idea of this, consider the weight of the Ultimate Ears Boom 3 speaker, which falls into exactly the same category as the T7. The UE Boom 3 weighs around 608 grams, while the Tronsmart T7 is considerably heavier at around 867 grams. It’s almost 1 kilo!
My only other complaint is the charging time for the outdoor speaker. After completely emptying the T7, it takes him three hours and a lot of patience to refuel. That’s Type-C charging! 3 hours is a very long time to charge a portable speaker. If you’re in a hurry and dead when you need it, chances are you’ll leave it at home.
competition

Not many brands offer the exact same combination of features. The only other Bluetooth speaker with a ring-shaped RGB light that comes to mind is the Huawei Sound Joy.
Huawei’s accessories are pretty much the same as the T7, but with Devialet it’s upscale. If you can get your hands on it, I recommend it over the Tronsmart T7. However, it is much more expensive and is not available in many parts of the world, including North America.
If you want the same tubular shape with a more robust build, check out the Ultimate Ears Boom 3. The UE Boom 3 packs powerful sound sans RGB into a colorful, lightweight cylindrical body, but costs three times as much as the T7.
Can you live without all the bright lights? Drown out that RGB itch with the affordable Tribit XSound Mega, or go all out with the epic JBL Pulse 5. Both of these Bluetooth speakers have better sound and better lights than the T7, but they also come at a higher price.
No other speaker has an attractive volume knob like the Tronsmart T7.
should you buy it?

then you should buy…
- I want a unique volume button that no one else has
- picky about custom EQ
- I need a rugged Bluetooth speaker
- Requires ambient RGB lighting
- you are looking for a worthwhile purchase
then you shouldn’t buy it…
- Small and lightweight accessories are required
- We can’t forget the AUX input port
- I hate gadgets that take forever to charge
As far as cheap Bluetooth speakers go, the Tronsmart T7 is definitely one of the best. It looks and feels great regardless of the sound or build quality. Its rugged water and dust resistance along with 360-degree audio output make it an ideal outdoor speaker.
No other competing brand offers a cylindrical outdoor Bluetooth speaker with RGB lighting and a rotating volume knob. If it weren’t for the tactile feel and clicky feeling of the knobs, I wouldn’t have been so excited. But it’s great and I love the buttons, so I wouldn’t recommend this great Bluetooth speaker.
The Tronsmart T7 is extremely versatile. It can be used indoors, at the beach, in the car or bus, and even for running or hiking trips. Battery life is great and it has many small features.
To answer the question I tried to answer, this is what I have to say. Yes, the Tronsmart T7 is a great, well-balanced product, so it’s worth the price.

incredible value
Enjoy all the perks of T7 Rugged Speakers without breaking the bank. Tronsmart’s Bluetooth speakers come with a satisfying volume knob, great battery specs, attractive ambient RGB lighting, and a host of other features. This is one of the best inexpensive audio accessories available.
