- All four of these Chromebooks are designed for “education customers” and will be available later this year.
- The Acer Chromebook Vero 712 is the most interesting product, combining power with portability and sustainability.
Acer has wasted no time in announcing another new lineup of Chromebooks. This time, the company introduced a total of four new options. All of these are designed for the classroom. This means they may be the most powerful solutions, but they are each designed to withstand the rigors of everyday life in the classroom.
First, the Acer Chromebook Vero 712 is the company’s first “Vero” Chromebook to be launched for students. It inherits much of the design from the Chromebook Vero 514. For example, a chassis made from 30% post-consumer post consumer recycled plastic and packaging made from 100% recycled paper pulp.

Portability is important for student Chromebooks, so the Vero 712 has a 12-inch display. This gives you HD+ (1366 x 912) resolution and our favorite 3:2 aspect ratio.
In terms of power, the Vero 712 is available in three different configurations starting with the low-end Intel Celeron 7305 and the high-end Intel’s 12th Gen Core i3-1215U. The Vero 712 can also feature up to 8GB of LDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC storage.
Other features here include dual USB-C Gen 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a single USB-A port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. With a 50 Wh cell in the chassis, the battery life is rated at up to 10 hours on a single charge.
