The Witcher 3 “next-gen update” isn’t that big of a deal, but it’s good to know they still care about the game. The Netflix adaptation that brought the Witcher series back to people’s minds seems to have pushed them to make the game nifty and glossy for all returning and new players. Good news for you. Upgrades are completely free for all platforms. Includes better graphics and new content.
So what’s in this The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition package? Well…a lot, but nothing that really changes the game. Of course, it comes with the graphical upgrades you’d expect from a next-gen upgrade. The cool thing about these graphical changes is the fact that they were adapted from mods created by the community. It’s not exactly clear how much it cost from the mod and how much was built in-house, but it’s definitely very exciting for mod developers to be in the game for all players.

According to the CDPR documentation, the update contains 5 mods. The Witcher 3 HD Rework Project, Reworked HD Monsters, Immersive Real-Time Cutscenes, Nitpicker’s Patch, Full Combat Rebalance 3, World Map Fixes. These six mods were among the most downloaded on The Witcher 3’s Nexus Mods page. It’s always great when a game company goes to great lengths to support what I often call the most dedicated members of their community: modders. Personally, I can’t say to what extent each of these mods has been implemented, but CDPR credits their creators.
Both Xbox Series X and PS5 get options between the two modes. Performance targeting 60 fps with dynamic resolution scaling and staying at 30 fps while using Ray Tracing mode as the title suggests. The Series S also has two modes, albeit less powerful than its big brother, but a bit more traditional than the performance versus quality modes of previous generation consoles. Is possible.

Apart from the visual updates, there are also some content additions. There’s nothing crazy here, new side missions rewarding players with gear inspired by the Netflix adaptation of The Witcher and a few other references to the same show added elsewhere. , which also includes some quality of life changes that you might not notice right away, as many are hidden in the settings. Always check the in-game options when launching the game.
Many of the implemented changes are visual and quality of life, so there’s not much to say here. This is a welcome update. If it’s been a while since you played, or if you’ve never played before, now is the perfect time. The Witcher 3 has been doing well for a while, but these upgrades further solidify his position as one of the all-time greats.
