AMD announced the pricing and availability of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D on Tuesday. The two Ryzen 9 chips will arrive on February 28th and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D on April 6th.
Suggested retail prices are $700, $600 and $450 for the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D respectively. The Ryzen 9 7950X3D will debut at the same price as the base Ryzen 9 7950X, while the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will cost $50 more than the currently available Ryzen 7 7700X. The Ryzen 9 7900X3D is also up about $40-$50.
The two Ryzen 9 models don’t have a price hike above AMD’s recommended price, but are more expensive. AMD’s Zen 4 processors are selling poorly, with the Ryzen 9 7950X priced at $550-$600 and the Ryzen 9 7900X nearing $400.
This shift will almost cement the base Ryzen 7000 processors at lower prices. AMD hasn’t made an official announcement, but we don’t expect prices to rise again after the arrival of 3D V-Cache processors.
These are the highly anticipated processors from AMD since they announced them earlier this year. With the 3D V-Cache technology behind the chip, the previous generation his Ryzen 7 5800X3D soared to the top of the charts as the best gaming processor you can buy.

Not this time. In the previous generation AMD only released a single processor with his 3D V-Cache. The company is now expanding the tech into their product stack, with the Ryzen 9 7950X3D packing 3D V-Cache alongside the 16 Zen 4 cores found in the base processor.
AMD claims its flagship Ryzen 9 7950X3D to be up to 24% faster than Intel’s Core i9-13900K in gaming and 4% to 52% faster in productivity apps. The latter was the Achilles heel of the previous generation, and the Ryzen 7 5800X3D was beaten out by other non-gaming processors (read our Ryzen 7 5800X3D review for more).
According to AMD, this processor is built to address the problems of the previous generation. However, gaming is still the main focus. AMD says the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is up to 30% faster compared to the previous generation, and on average gamers can expect a 15% boost.
AMD is clearly on the top of the list for the best processors, but we’ll have to wait until we get our hands on these processors and test them ourselves. The Ryzen 7000 processor delivers unexpectedly high performance.
The new processors are included in AMD’s Ryzen 7000 game bundle promotion, giving away free digital codes going forward. Star Wars Jedi Survivor. The game was recently released in late April from its original March release date, although the promotion is still ongoing.
