Bowlus offers some of the most stylish and luxurious loaded travel trailers on the market, but they don’t come cheap. Keeping those prices a little more down to earth, the California company this week introduced an all-new entry-level model called the Heritage Edition, which costs about the same as a Ford Transit camper van, but Bowlus’ next trailer. He is over $100,000 cheaper than. It still packs a week’s worth of off-grid lithium power, a fully equipped interior for four, and glamping comforts like air conditioning and hot water heating.
Every time I see a new Bowlus, I’m reminded of a lingering question: How many buyers with the means to spend $200,000 or $300,000 on a trailer will actually travel or travel in a trailer as opposed to a larger, more comfortable camper? Want to camp? .. or a vacation condo. But to Bowlus’ credit, the company has introduced high-performance, high-priced trailers over the past decade. it must be doing the right thing.
Bowlus seems to be finally getting used to the idea of temporarily switching to downmarket gear. And the $159,000 base price, which is still more than enough to make anyone wonder why, is the lowest we’ve seen at a Bowlus since we saw the original Road Chief redux just over a decade ago this month. It’s a price tag.

Bowlus builds its identity in its signature riveted aluminum trailer shell and doesn’t dilute that identity when creating the base model. However, we have slightly tweaked the look of the Heritage Edition’s aluminum monocoque to offer a more subtle matte satin silver ‘mill finish’ than the bright, glossy aluminum of other trailers. We think the new finish goes even better with the trailer’s vintage Streamline Moderna styling, but if that’s not your thing, you can also opt for Bowlus’ new options for a custom wrap in matte black or satin gray. .
The 27 ft (8.2 m) Heritage Edition has the same floor plan as our other bowls trailers with a rear pointed nose king bedroom, dry bath with separate toilet and shower room directly in front of the bedroom, dining and a midship sofa lounge, and a gourmet kitchen at the front. In total the trailer can accommodate up to 4 adults as the central lounge can be converted into his 2 single beds.

Lithium battery power has long been a cornerstone of Bowlus builds, and it carries over into the Heritage Edition. The standard package includes a 2 kWh lithium battery pack and his 1,000 W inverter, which Bowlus says will support about a week of off-grid vacations. If you’re looking for more electrical capacity, 2 or 4 kWh of additional battery capacity, 2,000 or 3,000 W inverter, solar charging, touchscreen control panel, Bluetooth and remote monitoring, 4-8 hours off-grid air conditioning can be added. runtime.
In addition to air conditioning, the Heritage Edition comes standard with a cabin and water heater, dual burner Italian stove, 88 liter refrigerator and microwave in the galley, and 72 liter fresh water capacity. Optional technology packages support Starlink internet readiness, 5G router, cellular booster, backup camera and interior tablet mount.

Fewer standard features means lighter weight, with the Heritage Edition being the lightest Bowlus in the fleet at 2,900 pounds (1,315 kg). A gross vehicle weight rating of 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg) leaves a payload of 600 lbs (270 kg) for adding options or carrying luggage and gear.
For those who don’t want to write down $159,000 in one big swing, Bowlus also offers $1,027 monthly installment funding options. it still hurts.
