A new report from Semafor says Microsoft is working to incorporate a faster version of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, known as GPT-4, into Bing in the coming weeks, giving the search engine a competitive edge over Google. will do so. With this integration, Bing uses his GPT-4 to answer search queries.
A person familiar with the matter told Semafor that the main difference between ChatGPT and GPT-4 is speed. ChatGPT can take minutes to form a response, but GPT-4 is said to be much faster to respond to queries. Modern software’s responses are also said to be more detailed and more human.
Plans to incorporate ChatGPT into Microsoft products are expected to create new competition in Internet search, which has been dominated by Google until now. GPT-4 allows Bing to provide users with human-like answers instead of just displaying a list of links.
Microsoft declined to comment, and OpenAI did not respond to TechCrunch’s request for comment.
Semafor reports that OpenAI is also planning to introduce a mobile ChatGPT app in the future. Since ChatGPT currently only has a web version, the introduction of a mobile version will allow OpenAI to grow ChatGPT’s user base by making the software more accessible. Additionally, according to the report, the company will be testing a new feature in popular image generation software Dall-E, which uses AI to generate videos.
The Information reported last month that Microsoft was rumored to be preparing ChatGPT integration with Bing search results.
The report came out last week as Microsoft extended its partnership with OpenAI with an investment of “several years and billions of dollars.” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently told The Wall Street Journal that Microsoft plans to make his OpenAI base system available as a commercial platform.
In a blog post, Microsoft plans to accelerate OpenAI’s AI research and invest in deploying specialized supercomputing systems to integrate OpenAI’s AI systems with the company’s products. We plan to introduce the experience.
