The Day Before’s ‘live gameplay footage’ reveal scheduled for January was scrapped at the last minute due to a trademark dispute (opens in new tab) It also allegedly forced a long launch delay. But now the show could be restarted, and it could go live soon. Levitate, lead moderator of The Day Before Discord (opens in new tab)announced today that it will be revealing gameplay on February 2nd.

The surprise reveal of the gameplay reveal is, to say the least, the latest twist in a questionable narrative. (opens in new tab)Day Before was supposed to come out on March 1st, but the last time we actually saw it was in April 2021 (almost two years ago), in a heavily scripted gameplay demo.
The nature of the game has also been kept very vague, with one of the Discord mods (not Levitate for the record) recently being accused of voicing suspicion that the game doesn’t exist at all. Fnnastic made things even more confusing by saying the launch delay was planned before the trademark issue arose. (opens in new tab)previously blamed specifically for the controversy.
Today’s Discord announcement is not situationally focused. There is no mention of an upcoming announcement on any of the official Day Before social media channels. Levitate said he was given permission to post the announcement to Discord, but declined to reveal if this would be the promised “raw gameplay” footage. In January, “I’ll leave that mystery to your imagination until tomorrow!” Even more confusingly, he didn’t say when the footage would air. It’s also interesting that the graphics announcing upcoming gameplay reveals are just text superimposed over old screenshots. I think the new gameplay reveal justifies the new image, just to solidify the idea that it’s coming to.
Hours after the word was made on Discord, a Fntastic rep said in an email sent to PC Gamer that 10 minutes of “uncut” gameplay will be available on February 2nd at 10am PT. I have confirmed that Fntastic’s YouTube Channel (opens in new tab).
