Archaeologists have found the first physical evidence confirming that some Vikings transported their horses and dogs from Scandinavia to England.

Evidence of animal bones comes from the only known Viking crematorium burial mound in the British Isles. Heathwood Cemetery in present-day Derbyshire in central England is believed to be the burial place of the first large Viking army to visit the country.
