OpenAI’s artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT is the fastest growing app of all time.
This is according to a UBS investigation (via CBS News)(opens in new window)), ChatGPT claims 13 million unique visitors per day in January, more than double the number of visitors in December. ChatGPT is only two months old (can you believe it?), but it already has 100 million monthly users, the study concludes.

Research citing data from analytics firm Similarweb(opens in new window), ChatGPT is well positioned over other fast-growing apps such as TikTok and Instagram. By comparison, it took TikTok nine months to reach his 100 million monthly active users. For Instagram, it took two and a half years.
A USB analyst said in the study:
This report comes just one day after OpenAI launched ChatGPT Plus, a paid version of its chatbot. For $20/month, it gives users access to his ChatGPT during peak hours, faster response times, and priority access to new features.
ChatGPT has been hugely popular since its inception, being used for a variety of tasks such as writing silly poems, cheating on college essays, and having bots create malware.
