The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is here, bringing with it a faster new chipset, a 200MP camera with a new sensor for the Ultra, larger batteries for the other two, and, at least in some regions, new prices.

Prices for most regions were released on Wednesday, with India details the next day. But everything is more expensive, and Samsung made up for the price hike by doubling the base storage of his S23+ and S23 Ultra. Is that fair – or is it?
In case you missed it, check out our hands-on review with three phones and Will’s report from the Unpacked event. Now let’s dive into the details.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has minimal changes on the outside, but a nice upgrade on the inside. Yes, this is his Samsung first and his 200MP camera story. A brother company created his ISOCELL HP2 sensor specifically for his Ultra. This is different from his HP1 and HP3 that I have seen on other phones. Super Quad Pixel Autofocus should be a big improvement over the AF systems on his previous 108MP and 200MP phones. Samsung also upgraded his OIS system so it can now correct angles up to 3.0° (twice the 1.5° the S22 Ultra OIS can manage).

All three smartphones use the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset, whose prime core runs at 3.36GHz (up from 3.2GHz in other Gen 2 smartphones). Qualcomm hasn’t commented on the details, but the GPU is also fast (we’ll find out through benchmarks anyway). However, only the Ultra offers 12 GB of RAM. Given that 16GB phones are pretty common, 8GB seems like the limit.

The S23 Ultra bids for smartphone camera king. Whether or not it takes the crown is a subject that will have to wait for review. available) or wait and see? Vote below or on this page.
The Samsung Galaxy S23+ and its smaller siblings still have flat displays. I don’t think you’ll hear any complaints about it. But they are still FHD+ LTPS panels when QHD+ and LTPO are expected to be the flagship products. We can already hear complaints.
These two also show less when it comes to camera upgrades. The new selfie camera has a slightly higher resolution of 12MP (this is an upgrade for the S23 and S23+ and a downgrade for Ultra). Video recording has also been improved, with support for 8K at 30 fps on the rear camera and Super HDR at 60 fps on the front camera. However, there is still no autofocus for the ultra-wide-angle camera.
The Ultra missed out on a battery upgrade, while the S23 and S23+ got a 200mAh increase. The charging speed of the two large smartphones is set at 45W, the same as last year. Samsung sells a selfie repair kit for its flagship product, but they don’t believe in pushing the battery hard (the kit doesn’t include a new battery).

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is the only one stuck with 25W charging. And it’s the only one with a 128GB storage option (with UFS 3.1, though the real impact of that has yet to be determined.) Despite missing out on a few upgrades, his S23 in the small size is up did not escape.
Still, it has a good chance of surpassing its Plus brother. According to reports, the S22 generation and the S23/S23+ have the same strengths and weaknesses as each other. It’s the smallest of the Android flagships (roughly the same size as the Zenfone 9) and the cheapest of the three.
