At 10 m (32 ft) long, the Kōtuku is considerably larger than most of Build Tiny’s other models, which are typically around 7 m (22 ft) long. However, this extra space is not wasted and features an interior layout with spacious storage, all on one floor.
Tiny House is named after New Zealand’s stork bird. The towable home is based on a 3 axle trailer and finished in vinyl with wood accents and a steel structural frame. It’s 2.4 m (almost 8 ft) wide, which is average for a small house, and 3.2 m (10.5 ft) high. Power comes from his standard RV style hookup.
Double-glazed doors reveal a well-proportioned interior finished in poplar plywood and vinyl floors in light tones. Visitors enter a living room with several seats and a small storage area.
The kitchen is next door. This is relatively spacious for a small New Zealand house, with space for a refrigerator/freezer, sink, microwave, and oven with his 4-burner propane stove. It also has standard cabinets, pull-out pantry drawers, overhead his cabinets, and a breakfast bar that seats up to two people. The bathroom is connected to the kitchen and has a composting toilet, compact shower, washing machine and sink.

The koutsk has only one bedroom. Not the typical loft-style bedroom, but on the ground floor so it has a proper double bed and space to stand upright, which is a luxury in a small home. In addition, there are many storage spaces, top, bottom, and both sides of the bed. Additionally, the bedroom can be accessed through a glass door.
Kōtuku was delivered as a fully furnished turnkey build. A similar Dark Horse model from Build Tiny was NZ$155,000 (approximately US$98,000).
