Counterpoint: Samsung makes half of Google Pixel 7 Pro’s BoM

Counterpoint Research has released the BoM (Bill of Materials) breakdown of the Google Pixel 7 Pro. According to analysts, 51% of the device is made up of Samsung components, 7% from the company and 5% from Micron.

The most expensive single component is the 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED, which is almost 20% of the Pixel’s total production cost. Samsung also built an ISOCELL GN1 sensor for the 50MP main camera, LSI image sensors for the periscope and selfie camera, and the entire cellular communication system (5G baseband, transceiver, power tracker for sub-6GHz).

The Pixel 7 Pro analyzed by Counterpoint has 12GB LPDDR5 RAM provided jointly by Micron and Samsung, with Google using both suppliers. The 128GB storage chip is also made in Korea, but by SK Hynix.

Skyworks and Murata are the biggest beneficiaries of the RF front-end subsystem. The former provided Tx modules, one low-band PAMiD module, two UHB 5G PA integrated modules, and other cellular and Wi-Fi solutions. The latter offers his mmWave module and SAW filters, but enables them jointly with Samsung.

The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and is rated at 19.25 Wh. Packaged by Sunwoda Electronic and powered by ATL. Meanwhile, the Quick Charging IC (integrated circuit) is supplied by NXP and the wireless charging IC is supplied by IDT.

The total production cost of the Pixel 7 Pro 12/128GB version is estimated at $413. The phone retailed for $899 at launch and is now priced at $749 on the Google Store.
