Just when you thought the default apps might be safe
The first time you log on to a new Windows machine, Microsoft Edge is reporting that a number of apps are having issues and Microsoft Edge will take over that particular protocol to resolve the issue. The only problem with the app is that it’s not set to use Edge by default. Microsoft just wants you to experience the new browser skins. At least for now, you should download Chrome in its original flavor or download your preferred browser.
But Edge isn’t just taking over web pages, it’s also putting a foothold in PDFs. Even after changing the default app to my PDF viewer of choice, I often find Edge still trying to view open PDFs while online. Now, thanks to the new team, things are about to get even trickier.
