After weeks and months of speculation, OnePlus finally unveiled its first tablet dubbed the OnePlus Pad at its ‘Cloud 11’ launch event in New Delhi. The company hasn’t revealed pricing yet, but OnePlus says pre-orders for the tablet will begin in April. I had the opportunity to test the device briefly at an event. And from the looks of it, the OnePlus Pad has the potential to compete with Samsung and Apple in the high-end tablet market. Here are our first impressions of the OnePlus Pad.
Pricing and Availability
OnePlus has yet to reveal an official price for the OnePlus Pad. However, the company has revealed that the tablet will be available for pre-order starting in April. The tablet will launch in India, North America, Europe and the Middle East. Based on its specs and comparison to other premium his tablets, the price is expected to be around $450, similar to the 10th generation iPad and iPad Air. However, in typical OnePlus fashion, the company may choose a more aggressive pricing strategy to compete with other players in the tablet market. OnePlus says it will provide more information in the coming days. We will update this page as new information becomes available.

design
The OnePlus Pad is a stylish tablet that combines premium materials with a sleek design. Constructed from a precision-cut aluminum chassis, the tablet boasts his large 11.6-inch IPS LCD display at its center (more on that later). Even though the OnePlus Pad is slightly larger than the iPad, it feels great to hold thanks to its rounded edges. The tablet is extremely lightweight, weighing only 500 grams and with a slim profile just 0.65 cm thick. This makes it the perfect tablet for those who are always on the go.
On the back, you’ll find the OnePlus logo in the center, just above the tablet’s giant camera bump. The camera module is reminiscent of the one found in the OnePlus 11 but it only houses a single 13MP camera sensor while his 8MP camera on the front sits at the top edge of the screen and gives the tablet a modern aesthetic It is surrounded by a narrow bezel that complements the
In terms of button placement, we have the power button on the far left and the volume rocker on the top. Speaker holes are conveniently placed on each side edge to ensure the best sound quality. There are smart connector pins on the bottom for seamless connectivity with accessories like the Magnetic Keyboard (more on that below).
Like all major OnePlus products this year, the OnePlus Pad will only come in a glossy green shade called “Halo Green.” The “Star Orbit” design gives the tablet a different look, but we’ve found that the finish is prone to attracting fingerprints, revealing noticeable marks after just a few minutes of handling.
screen
The OnePlus Pad features a large 11.61 inch IPS LCD display on the front. The company claims that this is the world’s first tablet with a 7:5 aspect ratio screen, allowing content to fit perfectly on the screen. The display also boasts support for refresh rates up to 144Hz. This is one of the fastest refresh rates we have ever seen on an Android tablet. This makes app launches and animations appear seamless for a smooth and fluid user experience. What’s more, the display has a 2.5D round edge treatment, so the glass and metal side rails blend perfectly together for a premium look.
OnePlus Pad vs Apple iPad Air
As for brightness, the display can reach up to 500 nits. This is typical for tablets of this caliber. With a PPI of just under 300, it delivers sharp, clear images. Another feature of this display is its Delta E rating of less than 2, which ensures high color accuracy. When it comes to color reproduction, the IPS LCD display produces vibrant colors that are pleasing to the eye. It may not match AMOLED displays in color reproduction, but it still offers a great visual experience.
performance
The OnePlus Tab is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. The chipset is based on ARM’s latest v9 architecture with 1 Cortex-X2 core running up to 3.05GHz, 3 Cortex-A710 cores running up to 2.85GHz and up to 1.8GHz It has four Cortex-A510 cores that With such impressive specs, OnePlus promises effortless performance when handling any task with this tablet.
This powerful chipset is combined with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Like the OnePlus 11, the OnePlus Pad also has RAM Vita technology. Simply put, this technology makes the process of using and reallocating RAM to apps more efficient and effective. In our full OnePlus Pad review, we take a thorough look at all this hardware.
Features and accessories
The OnePlus Pad runs OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13 out of the box. The software is optimized for large tablet displays and features a dual-pane design utilized by most first-party apps. However, I’ve noticed that the “four-finger swipe” gestures for switching between apps and returning to the home screen are noticeably lacking compared to the iPad. There is a possibility.
With the latest offering, OnePlus also seems to be trying to develop its own walled garden (Read Ecosystem). All OnePlus devices work in harmony and are always interconnected. This is especially useful for OnePlus Pads that don’t support SIM cards and need hotspot sharing for internet while on the go. However, OnePlus smartphone owners can benefit from this integrated ecosystem that brings the convenience of OTP sharing, cellular data sharing, and copy-and-paste functionality between devices.
In addition to the OnePlus Pad, OnePlus also announced a range of accompanying accessories. These include the OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard and OnePlus Stylo stylus. Stylo offers a latency of just 2ms, making it perfect for note-taking and sketching. And a smart connector on the bottom of the device allows for seamless communication with your keyboard. Unfortunately, OnePlus didn’t disclose any pricing or availability information for these accessories, and we weren’t able to test them at the event.
battery
The OnePlus Pad has a massive 9,510 mAh battery that supports 67W fast wired charging. The company says it can go from zero to 90% in just about an hour, which is pretty impressive for a tablet. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Ultra only supports 45W fast charging. And, as expected, wireless charging isn’t supported here. We can’t comment on the tablet’s battery life just yet, but OnePlus says the tablet has a one-month standby feature.
Overall, the OnePlus Pad looks like a promising addition to the tablet market. A few standout specs, like a 144Hz refresh rate screen, seamless integration with other OnePlus devices, and a range of first-party accessories make this device an attractive option. We’ll get a better sense of the OnePlus Pad’s capabilities once we get a chance to review the device thoroughly, but in the meantime, check out our hands-on review of the OnePlus 11 for a sneak peek.
