Telegram recently received its first significant update of the year, bringing 10 new features tailored for premium subscribers and regular users of the messaging platform.
One of the main ones is Profile Picture maker. With it, Telegram users can use any sticker or animated emoji as their display image in the new update. Users can further set their preferred display images, such as stickers and emojis, for each contact via the contact edit option.
Speaking of emojis, the new update added emoji and stickers categories. These can be used in reactions and statuses and can be found from your device’s keyboard by clicking the emoji icon.

Additionally, the messaging platform brings 10 new custom emoji packs by Telegram artists. Similarly, the animators have also created new interactive versions of the Unicorn, See-No-Evil Monkey, Pill, Heart with Arrow, and Hear-No-Evil Monkey emojis in the latest update.
Telegram also gets new ways to see app data and storage usage, including Wi-Fi/mobile data and onboard storage. The user displays them in pie chart format,[設定]You can now see data usage for individual users or groups in .
The messaging platform also adds an auto-download media option for chats. This allows users to optimize their storage accordingly. This is very similar to what we’ve seen with competing messaging apps such as WhatsApp. Additionally, there are exceptions to this feature, so users have complete control over what media they download to their device.

There is a new Granular Media permission that allows admins to choose what types of media are allowed in a group or channel. Includes photos, audio recordings, videos, files, music, and more.

The new update allows bot developers to select using a new special button, so they can sort bot accounts by predefined criteria.
“Bot developers can add special buttons to help users select groups, channels, or people who meet predefined criteria,” Telegram said in its announcement blog post.
Additionally, Android device owners can now quickly log back into their Telegram accounts using their Google IDs with the new update. This works equally well for iPhone users who log in with their Apple ID. No need for SMS codes. However, if the user has enabled two-factor authentication for him, the previous familiar process must be followed.
For Telegram Premium account holders, the new update brings the ability to translate across chats, groups and channels in real time. A new translation bar at the top is now available. This pops up whenever a user’s non-native language appears in the aforementioned conversation.

Finally, Telegram offers 40% off on annual premium subscriptions (if you choose the annual plan). This is $39.99 per year instead of $59.99 per year.
