Mercedes-Benz debuted its latest electric car on Tuesday, but not a sedan this time again SUVs. It is the eSprinter, the electrified version of Mercedes-Benz Vans’ flagship product, which will go on sale in North America later this year, with a European launch planned for the end of 2023.
American consumers have mostly given up on vans, but on the commercial side, the wheels have changed, especially since European imports like the Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter have started hyping their own in America. Cottages seem to be growing in popularity.Road.

Ford was the first to electrify a commercial van. In early 2022 he will be driving E Transit. When the eSprinter hits the market at least in the second half of this year, the race for emission-free vantime will begin. Production will begin in Düsseldorf, Germany, followed by his eSprinter in Ludwigsfelde, Germany and Charleston, South Carolina.
Although the eSprinter is designed to be modular, in the US it will be offered in a long cargo van variant with a tall roof and the largest available battery pack of 113 kWh. It’s too early for official EPA range estimates, but the eSprinter appears to be slightly longer-legged than the Ford E-Transit, which makes do with a battery pack that’s almost half the eSprinter’s size. (His WLTP range on the eSprinter is 400 km and 500 km for city driving.)

Interestingly, the eSprinter’s battery pack uses lithium iron phosphate chemistry rather than lithium ion. Onboard AC charging is capable of up to 9.6 kW and DC fast charging up to 115 kW should bring the battery pack to 10-80% charge in about 42 minutes.
All eSprinters are rear-wheel drive, with up to 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque and a choice of 134 hp (100 kW) or 201 hp (150 kW) power. Mercedes-Benz hasn’t revealed the maximum payload of his eSprinter, but the van’s gross vehicle weight rating he said is 4.25 tons, with a capacity of 488 cubic feet (13,819 L).

Inside the vehicle, eSprinter drivers have access to one of the best infotainment systems on the market. This van has the same MBUX system from him as the consumer Mercedes-Benz, but with a much more subdued infotainment screen. The highlight of this system is its very good voice recognition, but range-aware navigation would probably come in handy as well.
Pricing, like the EPA range, should be announced closer to the eSprinter’s arrival in late 2023.
