At the Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this month, Samsung unveiled its highly anticipated Galaxy S23 series smartphones alongside Galaxy Book3 series laptops including the Galaxy Book3 360, Galaxy Book3 Pro, Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 and Galaxy Book3 Ultra. The Galaxy Book3 Ultra is the flagship of the lineup, and since we had the chance to spend some quality time at the Samsung Opera House in Bangalore, India, here are our impressions of some of Samsung’s most ambitious laptops.

The Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra is 16.5 mm thick and weighs 1.79 kg. It has a sleek design and is housed in a full aluminum frame. The overall build, which extends to the area around the keyboard, is great, much like the finish on the laptop lid.

Opening the lid of the Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra reveals a 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a resolution of 2,880×1,800 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. 120Hz adaptive refresh rate (48-120Hz), depending on on-screen content, with option to limit to 60 FPS.

The display also features 120% DCI-P3 color volume, surrounded by a slim, non-plastic bezel with a 1080p webcam mounted on the top bezel with a blue indicator that lights up when the camera is in use.

The Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra’s hinge felt sturdy, but time will tell how it maintains stability in the long run.

The Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra also has an island-type keyboard, three-level backlighting, and a power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner in the upper-right corner. After typing a few lines in the event, I found the keyboard easier to type. However, extensive testing is required to determine the keyboard’s quality in everyday use.

Speaking of hardware, the Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra packs Intel’s 13th Gen Core i7-13700H or Core i9-13900H CPU and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4050 or 4070 GPU, depending on region.
