Poco has updated its X series this week, this time launching two models, Vanilla and Pro. The latter got a much better chipset for its Pro moniker, along with a higher quality display and main image sensor.
The Poco X5 Pro is the thinnest smartphone in the series at 7.9 mm. Powered by the Snapdragon 778G, it will launch globally at $300/€300 for 6/128GB units and $250/€250 if early bird offers are available.
The Poco X5 sticks with the Snapdragon 695 chip used in the X4 Pro and downgrades the camera from 108MP to 48MP. As we mentioned, the new Pro uses his IMX890 sensor (replacing last year’s Pro’s IMX766) and has a 10-bit display with Dolby Vision.
The vanilla X5 gets neither, but costs less. The same 6/128GB memory configuration is $250/250€ (or $200/200€ with early bird discount). Both the X5 and X5 Pro launched in several countries earlier this week.
The Poco X5 Pro is launching in India with a suggested retail price of Rs 23,000 (and promised discounts) with first sales on Monday 13th February. However, the vanilla Poco X5 will not be released.
