Internet Explorer; Good Riddance Or Fare Thee Well?

i don’t love this chakra today

Today, Internet Explorer’s demise is near as it will be forcibly removed from most systems where it is currently installed. Unless you’re running a long-term servicing channel of Windows 10 or Windows Server, the blue e is going the way of the dodo. The only real way to keep it up is to run a Windows OS from the distant past.

MSHTML will live on until 2029 in Microsoft Edge compatibility mode for a small number of apps that have not yet been updated. About a year before the last traces of Internet Explorer are finally banished from the web, yet another warning appears. It’s a bit sad to see the race for web rendering engines nearing its end, but for quite some time it’s been hard to see IE as a true competitor.

Internet Options, Security Zones, and other parts of IE built into the Windows operating system will remain for some time, but we expect them to be deprecated over time as well.
