It’s like a roguelike, stalker and you get Woody
There aren’t many weird car games these days. There are a lot of racing sims out there, but not many derived from Car Wars. Pacific Drive offers something for those of us who want driving to be part of the game but don’t want to focus on everything. Climb into a bizarre station wagon with wooden side panels that you use to explore a bizarre anomaly that has appeared in the Pacific Northwest of the United States and the explorers who drive it.
Your character’s skill tree isn’t mentioned, but the devs explained how your car gains the Rock, Paper, and SHOTGUN personalities. Every time you put it in, the horn will sound, and there will be habits. Mostly neutral, but occasionally annoying. These can be modified as needed, but in general the goal is to make your car unique for your playthrough. Cars can be upgraded and modified with what you discover. This will improve your chances of surviving the foray.
The zone itself seems to have strange and interesting beasts, including a floating pickpocket that can steal car doors. After collecting all of them, explore and loot before teleporting.
