AI Bing chat access: How to jump the waitlist for Microsoft’s ChatGPT-like search tool

Microsoft made headlines last week with the announcement of AI-enhanced Bing. That search site has long been a joke, with Google dominating the space. But we do research on behalf of our users, stories, itineraries, menus, emails, and more.

The new feature is the result of a collaboration between OpenAI, creators of the controversial ChatGPT service, and Microsoft, and could lead to real competition from Google. This feature is not yet available to all web users, but you can sign up on the waitlist to test it out, as shown below. According to Michael Muchmore, here’s how to quickly access the new Bing:(opens in new tab) Mashable’s sibling site at PCMag.com(opens in new tab).

If you’ve been paying attention to announcements from Microsoft, you know that new AI chat and text generation features are coming to the Edge web browser, available not only for Windows, but also for Linux and macOS. Remember, new AI capabilities aren’t just built into Edge, they’re also available on Bing’s website and mobile apps.

Like Windows, there is an Edge Insider program.(opens in new tab) This allows users to get a taste of new features that will be added in future versions of the software. I thought installing the preview build would give me the new AI search, but the waitlist status was the same for all 3 of her preview builds in the browser.
