Balchon’s charmingly named La Maison du Bonheur (or House of Happiness) offers something different than most small homes on the market. This particular model serves as both a fully functional home and playground. It has a slide and a climbing wall.

The platform is only 6 m (20 ft) long and is based on a 2 axle trailer. Finished in red cedar with aluminum cladding, it gets power from his standard RV-style hookups.
The most interesting area of a tiny house occupies the space that would normally be the living room. It consists of a slide, a small playhouse, a mat, a climbing wall, and a nearby storage space for toys and books. The generous glass-walled room is filled with natural light and looks like a fun space for young children.

Elsewhere there is a small house part of the house, including a dining table that seats three and a very small wood burning stove. The kitchen is very small with a propane 2 burner stove, refrigerator, sink and cabinets. This area leads to a bathroom with shower and toilet.
La Maison du Bonheur has only one bedroom, accessed by a staircase integrated into the slide and dining table area. The bedroom itself is a typical tiny house style loft bedroom with low ceilings and some storage space and a bed.
La Maison du Bonheur is now handed over to its owner in the South East of France. Pricing hasn’t been disclosed, but Vulchon models typically start at around €80,000 (around US$85,000).
