Is it right? Is the era of massive PlayStation 5 shortages finally coming to an end?
According to PlayStation boss Jim Ryan, yes.
“Everyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding it in retail stores around the world from this point on,” Ryan said at the CES presentation.(opens in new tab) January 2023. A month ago, it might have sounded too good to be true, but it’s really starting to unfold before your eyes. As of this writing, multiple retailers have PlayStation 5 consoles in stock. No waiting lists or invitations needed. All you have to do is buy it.
We’re not entirely sure why this sudden shift happened, but we suspect it has something to do with the supply chain challenges of the pandemic and the semiconductor shortages beginning to settle.

Until now, it’s been a dream come true to be able to buy a PS5 easily. Since the console’s November 2020 release, both store shelves and online retailers have always found it fresh from the unit as quickly as it arrived.
