With ChromeOS 110 starting to roll out to more users, it’s time for the next version of ChromeOS. This is right after version 110 of the Chrome browser became available, but there are clearly some differences between the two.
As we mentioned in our Community Support Group announcement post, there are quite a few changes on the way to the best Chromebooks. First, Google has made three improvements to Launcher as it continues to deliver an “improved user experience.” These include “robust autocomplete for mistyped and misspelled queries, clearer search result categories for selected results, and a more intuitive results selection experience with keyboard navigation.”
Due to the long lifespan of Chromebooks, keyboards can fail. Previously, if you wanted to test your keys, ChromeOS didn’t have an option built-in to do so.
However, that’s no longer the case since a new “Keyboard Input Routine” is now available in the Diagnostics section of the Settings app. What you need to do to access it is Settings > About ChromeOS > Diagnosticsin the sidebar, click[キーボード]Choose. From there, select your device’s keyboard from the list and an on-screen interface will appear highlighting each key on the keyboard that was pressed.
One of the interesting changes coming in ChromeOS 110 has nothing to do with user-facing features or UI changes. Instead, it’s described as “ultra-high-definition audio for Bluetooth headset microphones.”
It may sound like gibberish, but Google explains that it uses “machine learning models” to reconstruct the high-frequency portion of audio signals from low-bandwidth sources at the platform level. I’m here. Apps that use audio work as if they had a higher quality source. Basically, with ChromeOS 110 and his favorite Bluetooth headphones, you can expect fewer interruptions if someone tries to tell you your voice is muffled.
ChromeOS 110 also includes some pretty useful accessibility features thanks to ‘Select-to-speak’.This functionality has been around for some time, but you can highlight text and use the context menu to[選択して読み上げ]You can now click the button. In addition, Select-to-speak can “automatically change the language to match the content selected by the user.”
ChromeOS 110 has some other minor changes as well. For example, new badges and system tray labeling that tells you which channel you’re on. These are also color coded send feedback The implementation has been improved with “related help articles” based on captured screenshots for your feedback.
