The world’s most adorable harbinger of hell seems stuck on the big screen.
Film studio Millennium Media has announced a new comic-based reboot. hell boy(opens in new tab) The series takes place this week at EFM in Berlin and features the horned superhero mantelpiece in an all-new installment that completely departs from the few previous adaptations that followed. The new film is directed by Brian Taylor (crank), based on the comic of the same name released in 2008.

After the box office success of Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy in 2004 and the poor performance of Andrew Cosby’s 2019 version, the new film is the first to be directed by comic book creator Mike Mignola. Jeffrey Greenstein, president of Millennium Media, said: “‘The Crooked Man’ is all it takes to see Mike Mignola and the author of the comics finally lead authentic versions of his story and characters in cinematic form. It’s a departure from the ‘Hellboy’ movies.
Production on the new film, in collaboration with Dark Horse Entertainment, Nu Boyana Studios and Campbell Grobman Films, will begin in March.
